The abstract floral pattern includes flowers in waves. Waves which signify power and resilience. Flowers patterns often represent beauty. This particular silk has a different pattern on the reverse side, something unique to Japanese kimono fabric.
The pattern is created by meticulously hand cut stencils. More on the some komon (small pattern) technique on our blog.
Squares are approximately 12″ x 12″ [30cm]
Pocket square edges are quality hand rolled and sewn.
100% vintage Japanese fine silk, dry clean only.

The LTK collection includes silks that date back to the Edo period, the time of the samurai and the shogunate. The opulence of the court at that time demanded that courtesans and nobility wore only the finest clothing. Patterns and designs of the fabrics were not at the whim of the designers, but rather had deep rooted symbolism and poetic interpretations of nature and the surroundings. The "Barbed Wire" pattern is a graphic representation.
The design is rare and extremely limited. Only 20 ties and pocket squares will be made from this fabric and once they're sold, there will be no more.
